Schaufenster, literally "look window", is the German word for shop window. This SCHAU FENSTER aims to be a window into other galleries, ateliers, academies, and curator brains around the globe. Further insights coming up!

OLM, Neuchatel showing:
Andy Storchenegger

OLM Neuchatel invited Zurich-based Andy Storchenegger into our SCHAU FENSTER. We are very happy about the artist's installation; a work created especially for us - thanks Andy!

Here's some more information on Andy Storchenegger
OLM is a space created for artistic practices and experimentation.

A contemporary agency in the form of adytum, OLM is located in an interzone, an intersection of reality and virtuality, situated under a highway bidge. Without radically breaking the esthetic value and homogenized model of the stark white cube, the chthonic space offers a juxtaposed descent of the senses a paradoxical symbol of death and rebirth. The allegory of the cave that you can read in the Book VII of the Republic of Plato, metaphorically addresses the difficulty of seeing the world in its true essence. Where the protagonists, chained since birth, languish miserably in the dark image of the sensible world, receiving only distorted shadows projected onto the walls of the chasm. Whether it is forgotten initiation rites or a hypothetical fertility cult, whose misshapen Paleolithic Venus would influence the media, the underworld is full of myths and legends. OLM is a place which manifests the sacred, an axial point located outside the space-time continuum populated by the curious a place of archetypal regression (regress ad uterum). R.L.
